Емпатія як категорія лінгвістичної прагматики

Abstract

У статті репрезентовані різні підходи до тлумачення емпатії в сучасній лінгвістиці. Емпатія досліджується крізь призму лінгвістичної прагматики. Аналізується функціонування емпатійних конверсаційних імплікатур, а також реалізація в комунікативних комплексах принципу кооперації, що сприяє підтриманню гармонійних емпатійних стосунків між комунікантами.В статье представлены различные подходы к толкованию эмпатии в современной лингвистике. Эмпатия исследуется сквозь призму лингвистической прагматики. Анализируется функционирование эмпатических конверсационных импликатур, а также реализация в коммуникативных комплексах принципа кооперации, который способствует поддержанию гармоничных эмпатических отношений между коммуникантами.The article provides insights into different approaches to the interpretation of empathy in modern linguistics. It looks fundamentally at empathy through the prism of linguistic pragmatics. The paper also examines the operation of empathic conversational implicatures, as well as the implementation of a set of principles of communicative cooperation, which contribute to the maintenance of harmonious empathic relations between the communicants. Having purposeful nature, empathy is an intentional act which demonstrates pragmatic intentions of the speaker to take the place of another person, the desire to comprehend his/her personal experiences, to show intent to influence his/her emotions and behavior. Thus, the pragmatic empathic aspect can be described in terms of a prepared, focused, manipulative action. The level of emotional and evaluative competence of the participants of communicative situation, their social experience, specific worldview determine the degree of empathic cooperation integrating to the sphere of balanced verbal and nonverbal actions aimed at explication of empathic implicatures. Empathic conversational implicature is hidden information, closely linked to the verbal content which mediates semantic relationship between phrases and organizes their interactive focus on the implementation of empathy. The paper principally concludes the following: empathic implicature is based on those meaning components, which are provided by the presumption of existence of the cooperative principle. The cooperative principle is aimed primarily at the semantic part of participants’ contributions towards communication, at the ways of expressing the speaker’s values and especially at the ways of their semantic interpretations. Thereby it serves the process of regulation and optimization of empathic verbal interaction.
