Item The Impact of Migration of Highly Skilled Workers on The Country’s Competitiveness and Economic Growth(Economic Laboratory for Transition Research, 2021) Oliinyk, O.; Білан, Юрій Валентинович; Bilan, Yurii Valentynovych; Mishchuk, H.; Akimov, O.; Vasa, L.The links between the migration of highly skilled workers and economic growth (in terms of GNI per capita) and the competitiveness of countries have been studied. The study is based on statistics from developed coun-tries and using correlation-regression analysis and modelling, as well as cluster analysis using the package of processing and analysis of statistical information STATISTICA. The analysis found that the immigration of workers with higher education has a significant impact on strengthening the compet-itiveness and economic development of countries – this is confirmed by the impact of talent migration, which is assessed by the values of case studies (‘The Human Flight and Brain Drain’ sub-index Fragile States Index and ‘Brain gain’ sub-index’ in the Global Talent Competitiveness Index and ‘High-ly educated workers’ sub-index in the OECD indicators of talent attractive-ness). Their impact on macroeconomic indicators is higher compared to the links with social development indicators. Of course, this does not mean that such links should not be seen as important in public economic development management, as they illustrate the level of efficiency achieved in creating favourable conditions for realizing the potential of highly skilled workers, including pull-factors for their immigration. But in the macroeconomic man-agement of a competitive economy, according to our research, actions aimed at attracting highly skilled migrants have the most significant and obvious impact. Other links can be taken into account and used in model-ling for the development of institutional support for proactive migration policy for highly qualified workers.Item Evaluation of the level of corporate social responsibility of Ukrainian nuclear energy producers(Sciendo, 2021) Grishnova, O.; Bereziuk, K.; Білан, Юрій Валентинович; Bilan, Yurii ValentynovychThe paper considers the role of the development of corporate social responsibility of Ukrainian nuclear energy producers to ensure the effective functioning of this industry. National sustainable development in all social and economic spheres depends heavily on effective employee management where safety plays the main role. The purpose of the article is to evaluate the development of corporate social responsibility in NNEGC “Energoatom” and identify reserves for improving enterprise employee management. To achieve this goal, the method of SPACE analysis has been modified, because this tool is traditionally used as a method of strategic management. A system of 23 indicators has been developed to evaluate the level of corporate social responsibility in NNEGC Energoatom. Four groups of factors were identified, each of them was assessed by a set of relevant indicators. The article covers the activities of the enterprise during 2016-2020. On the basis of mathematical calculations, the SPACE-analysis matrix is constructed and the strategy of corporate social responsibility development is defined. The evaluation of the level of corporate social responsibility in NNEGC Energoatom indicates a high level of CSR. Despite the effective corporate social responsibility policy in NNEGC Energoatom, some problems still exist. The analysis allowed identifying the ways to improve the corporate social responsibility of nuclear energy producers, particularly to ensure a competitive salary, increase the level of occupational safety, improve the internal communication system. The practical value of the analysis lies in the fact that the modified method of SPACE- analysis can be used to evaluate the corporate social responsibility in different types of enterprises with different aims and objectives.Item Covid-19 Pandemic and Independent Convenience Stores in the United Kingdom(Kauno Technologijos Universitetas, 2021) Rybaczewska, M.; Sulkowski, L.; Білан, Юрій Валентинович; Bilan, Yurii ValentynovychCovid-19 brought the new reality into every-day life, global economy, and various sectors, including independent convenience stores. After the first and during the second wave of Coronavirus in the United Kingdom (mid-November 2020), the overall situation was very dynamic and turbulent. This paper is thus aimed at answering the question how the independent convenience stores sector in the United Kingdom functions in the Covid-19 reality. We analyse such issues as the recession phase in the global economy, and challenges the independent convenience stores sector in the UK faces, including the changing aspects of the consumer shopping behaviour. We identify the changes in the footfall, basket spend, sale, product categories, etc. Finally, we conclude that the convenience store sector in the UK is relatively resistant to Covid-19 pandemic and emphasise the most challenging consumer behaviour aspects in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.Item Trust crisis in the financial sector and macroeconomic stability: a structural equation modelling approach(Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, 2021) Бричко, Марина Михайлівна; Brychko, Maryna Mykhailivna; Білан, Юрій Валентинович; Bilan, Yurii Valentynovych; Лєонов, Сергій Вячеславович; Lieonov, Serhii Viacheslavovych; Menteld, G.Although the growing body of literature that recognises a destabilising role of the trust crisis in the macroeconomic stability, the understanding of mediational pathways remains limited. The current paper fills the gap by contributing to the existing literature by examining closely the mediating effect of the trust crisis in the financial sector on the indicators of macroeconomic stability due to the anticipated impact of the financial intermediation development and the monetary policy transmission mechanism, as well as their combinatorial impact. A method of structural equation modelling was used to analyse the input data. It has been empirically confirmed that exacerbation of the trust crisis in the financial sector without the use of regulatory measures is detrimental to macroeconomic stability. The results of the mediation analysis show that transmission channels of the monetary policy mechanism and developed financial sector mitigate the harmful effects of deepening the trust crisis in the financial sector and lead to an increase in macroeconomic stability indicators. From a practical perspective, the findings revealed that interest, credit, and currency channels of the monetary policy transmission mechanism could be used to cope with the erosion of the trust crisis in the financial sector to macroeconomic stability.Item An Analysis of Technical Efficiency of Vegetables’ Household Production in Mongolia(Faculty of Economics and Management Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, 2021) Uuld, A.; Magda, R.; Білан, Юрій Валентинович; Bilan, Yurii ValentynovychVegetable production is one important agricultural product in crop production after wheat and potatoes production in Mongolia. Currently, household production dominates in total vegetable production (approximately 80 percent). Thus, the purposes of this paper were to measure technical efficiency and to determine influencing factors inefficiency on vegetable household production in Mongolia by using Stochastic production frontier analysis (SFA). Primary data was collected from randomly selected 260 vegetable households of Mongolia in 2019. The empirical result indicated that the average technical efficiency of the sampled vegetable household was 64.6 % (range between 43.2% and 99.9%) or they lost about 35.4% of the potential output due to technical inefficiency. We found that land and labor are the main influencing input factors of the household’s vegetable production. Also, the result of the technical inefficiency model, variables of age, sex, experience, and credit use obtained a negative relationship with inefficiency. У розділі описано концепцію оптимізації джерел фінансування інтелектуальних енергетичних мереж.Item Employer brand: key values influencing the intention to join a company(Sciendo, 2022) Samoliuk, N.; Білан, Юрій Валентинович; Билан, Юрий Валентинович; Bilan, Yurii Valentynovych; Mishchuk, H.; Mishchuk, V.Among the efforts to create a company brand, the development of a successful employer brand is today not only a sign of a socially responsible business, but also a tool to achieve competitive advantages in the labour market, expand employment opportunities, and retain the best employees. The key values that influence the intention to join a company vary among different groups of employees, which must be taken into account when creating a successful employer value proposition (EVP). The purpose of this study is to assess the differences between the key values of employed and potential workers whose work is most on demand in the labour market (generations Y and Z, with higher education and those who obtain higher education). The research was conducted on the basis of a sociological survey of a representative sample of respondents (510 respondents). The main differences in the perception of the employer’s brand are identified by gender (higher value of safety in the workplace for women, and opportunities for personal development for men), as well as in the groups selected by the availability of experience: pay is valued highest by respondents with work experience; for those who have no work experience, the employer’s brand reputation is a more important factor. There are also significant differences in assessments of the importance of workplace safety, professional development, comfortable environment, and work-life balance.
